Chamberlin

Three flags for the Broadview whose fall is nigh.
Seven for the Courtyard and the walls of stone.
Twelve for the Shoreland which looms so high.
One flag for the Pranks from the Tower sown,
In the City Grey with the bright-orange sky.

One flag to fool them all – to gleefully remind them:
Pranks await them one and all, with Chamberlin behind them,
In the City Grey with the bright-orange sky.

This is a poem which I wrote back in college to honor Chamberlin, the House of Pranksters – and of course to offer a nod to the creator of Middle Earth.
