Hallowed Silence Broken

Our midnight shortcuts
via dwarf king’s haunted halls
break hallowed silence.

A quiet sense of dread fills
the inky void all around.

This was guided by a the search for a theme which combined more than half a dozen different prompts and also the Tanka form, so while it’s a bit clever and actually conveys an interesting mood and the hint of a story, it is clearly what I classify as “Poetry in Mind” – a pleasure for the brain, but the heart is left wondering if there was a point somewhere.
